You want to find out what town your German ancestors came from. You want to know more about what life was like for your forebears in Germany. You are not alone. The German-American Genealogist Podcast is a fun, humorous, and insightful weekly show dedicated to helping family history researchers bridge the German-American gap. Join us every Monday!
Fremdhören ist ausdrücklich erwünscht 🙂

I already have my ancestors back to Germany in two areas: Schorrentin, Meckleburg-Schwerin, Germany, and Roslasin, Laurenburg, Pommern, Germany (now Poland). I have found a coupel generations of our Nehls and Jens family in Schorrentin. However, I don’t find much to help me in Pommern. Can you give me some suggestions of where to look and also who is a specialist in research in that area?
Thank you, I would appreciate any help you can give me. Donna
Donna, I think the people at „Die Pommerschen Leute“ – http://pomeranianews.com will be happy to help you.
Anyway – a good way to get in contact with German researchers in a special area is to take a look on the regional societies at: http://wiki-de.genealogy.net/Portal:Vereine
For Pommern there is the Pommerscher Greif (Society) – http://pommerscher-greif.de which will be happy to help you too!
regards Timo!
